It's mid-November and you know what that means: it's nearly turkey time! Merely a week away, we encourage you to place Thanksgiving arrangement orders soon. What better way to spruce up your Thanksgiving tablescape than with a festive, colorful centerpiece! We have a unique array of fall blooms and offer the traditional taller vase arrangement or fruit cornucopia gift basket, to anything in between!

Take a peak in our windows and you'll see that we're in transition, slowly making way from autumn to winter themes, including several decorated Christmas trees gracing the shop front. Gator Homecoming: What's Happening?

Gator homecoming is this weekend! Festivities abound and will begin with the 88th annual parade at noon on Friday, November 4. The theme is "There Is Nothing Like the Swamp." Attending the parade is a Crevasse family tradition. They'll be there this year as well, with sons Hunter and Colt.

The Gator Gallop is a 2 mile run/walk down University Avenue and is a precursor to the parade. The cash registration fee is $15 and the race begins at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 4.

At 7 p.m. that evening, join over 22,000 of your closest friends for Gator Growl, the largest student-run pep rally in the world! The show is held at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, AKA "The Swamp." Ken Block and Drew Copeland of the band Sister Hazel will host the show. This year's performers are the Goo Goo Dolls and stand-up comic Joel McHale. A fireworks display is also a part of the night's lineup!

Then, Saturday, November 5 is the main event: the Gators take on the Vanderbilt Commodores at 12:21 p.m.! The Crevasse's are avid football fans and the homecoming game is one they won't be missing! The Alumni BBQ will be held before the game at 10 a.m. in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. Diners will enjoy food and refreshments from Cody's Original Roadhouse. BBQ activities include trivia contests, raffle drawings, mini-carnival games with prizes, appearances by the Dazzlers, cheerleaders and the one and only Albert & Alberta! Entrance to the event is gratis and meal tickets are $10. ALL are invited and welcome!

The Crevasse family + the origins of the McIntosh Festival of the 1890s!

The McIntosh Festival of the 1890s is fast-approaching...October 22 to be exact! This annual event was founded by Margie Karow, fondly known as "McIntosh" by most. Margie was the maternal grandmother of Crevasse's Regency Florist owners, Christen and Beau Crevasse! Margie grew up in the small town of McIntosh, Florida, in the lovely house that now serves as the charming Merrily Bed & Breakfast. As her former family home, it only seemed appropriate that she serve as the B&B's innkeeper. She was an active participant in McIntosh's historical society, town committees and the like. Seeing great value in the history of her beloved township, she initiated the Festival that would come to be an annual, highly-anticipated event. Over 35,000 people are attracted to the sleepy town for the one day occasion. We hope you'll join us at this year's Festival! It takes place Saturday, October 22 from 8 a.m.--5 p.m., rain or shine and features antiques, art, crafts, food and all day entertainment. "Fall in Love"...

Join Crevasse's at Haile Plantation's Golf & Country Club wedding open house this Tuesday, October 11 from 6-8:30 p.m. You will be treated to champagne and delicious hors d'oeuvres, butlered by the fine staff of Haile Plantation. Sample sweets and cakes from local bakers. Goodie bags will be given to attendees at the door and prizes from Gainesville's top vendors will be raffled every 15 minutes! At the end of the night, there will be a bouquet and garter toss to win the ceremony/reception site fee for Haile Plantation Golf & Country Club and a golf outing for four at the Country Club! We hope you'll be there! This is going to be a really fun event. The Club's address is 9905 SW 44th Avenue in Gainesville.

We have been so extremely blessed to work on so many wonderful projects for weddings this Spring.

From Steinhatchee,Plantation, Hawthorne and Gainesville our Brides’ were especially keen on outdoor ceremony sites and simplistic centerpiece choices.

In Hawthorne, guests sat on hay bails for both the ceremony and reception and danced under a sky of yellow and white paper flowers in the barn.

At Kanapaha Botanical Gardens under the Oak Tree, Janie and Jared wed amongst strands of ribbon hanging from the tree in their bold colors of cobalt blue, fuchsia, dark plum and green.

At the Thomas Center, we traded the ribbon in for luscious ivory sateen fabric that made an altar for Ashley and Jeremy to wed on a warm May afternoon. The bride carried a gorgeous bouquet of fuchsia peonies, ivory hydrangeas, white and pale pink roses, fuchsia stock and bright pink garden roses.

Steinhatchee Tropical Wedding

Tanya and Jeff were married at Shangrila, the home of a family friend, directly on the water in Steinhatchee, FL. The early evening ceremony was adorned with lots of special touches that the Bride planned including scallop shell chair makers, white beach sand aisle and shell windchimes hanging in the palm trees surrounding the ceremony site.

The Groom and his Groomsmen even arrived to the ceremony by boat and walked up the dock to the altar. The Bride's bouquet was mainly orchids with some cascade and white hydrangeas as an accent. The Bridesmaids carried white hydrangea with aspidistra leaved folded as a collar. Centerpieces were designed in a large sea shell with spanish moss, white dendrobium orchids and greenery. They were placed on burlap runners on each guest table.

Phael orchid blooms covered the cake topper and guests dined on Hill's BBQ and cupcakes. The celebrating continued into the night with GYNS spinning the party tunes. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Taylor!!

A Fairytale wedding in bright spring colors....

Tony and Rachel were married at the Thomas Center in Gainesville, FL on 3/4/2011. The ceremony took place at the fountain surrounded by oak trees where the bride was escorted by her father Tim down the aisle that was covered by a custom hand-painted runner made by Kristen Janes of KIO Kreations in Naperville, IL. It featured the couples monogram initials in fuchsia and black.

The celebrating continued in the Spanish Court where the Bride and Groom shared their first dance as a married couple. Dinner and dancing were enjoyed in the Turtle Court outside under the stars. The delicious cake was made by Dream Day Cakes of Gainesville, FL and was covered in bright spring flowers. It was a lovely evening for the happy couple and all of their close family and friends. Congratulations to you both!

Elise Bailey and Fernando Rodriguez were married on February 26, 2011 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. The reception followed at Villa East.
