Spring has Sprung!

Easter traditions vary with religious beliefs and country of origin. For Christians, the white Easter lily has long been associated with the season of Easter. Legend has it that the trumpet-shaped flowers sprang from the ground in the Garden of Gethsemane shortly after Jesus Christ was crucified. The white color represents Jesus' purity and freedom from sin. Naturally, they have become a religious symbol of his resurrection and the very essence of Easter! We have Easter lilies for sale! The plants are very festive, in a basket with a pretty bow, colorful grass and Easter decor. They're priced at $29.50.

The association of eggs with Easter also has Christian origins. The egg itself is an appropriate symbol of new life, with a tiny chick growing inside. Christians fasted during the 40 days of Lent and eating eggs was forbidden during that time. When Easter Sunday came, eggs were a prized item on most banquet tables. They were also presented as gifts to children. The Persians painted eggs for their New Year's celebration, which falls on the spring equinox. Anciet Christians dyed eggs red to symbolize the shed of Jesus' blood. The coloring of eggs has become quite an art and a special springtime tradition! Easter Egg hunting has become a tradition for the Crevasse family. For years they've gathered with family and friends to share in this time of year with a large potluck feast!

We at Crevasse's Regency Florist wish you and yours a very Happy Easter and Passover!

Destination Wedding: Orlando, Florida

This past weekend, Christen traveled to Orlando for a friend's wedding. Crevasse's provided the flowers, which included white hydrangeas, white roses and baby's breath. The entire event took place at the luxurious Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando. All of the resort staff were very accommodating and exceptionally helpful. The whole event went off without a hitch, with picture-perfect weather and a couple of very happy newlyweds! If you know anyone tying the knot, remember that we are happy to travel and provide flowers for the big day! We include two planning sessions with an on-site wedding consultant and are happy to accommodate special requests.
